Biographical Information

Dr. Carol Beckerleg has dedicated her career to teaching and learning for students of all ages. She has worked in public education since the 1970s, when schools were still segregated, programs for special needs students were non-existent, “team-building” referred to the football program and transformational leadership was a dream of the future.

Carol has been a student of leadership, delving into the relationship between leaders and followers. Her Doctoral Program at the University if Minnesota included developing a Monograph entitled “One Hundred Years of Leadership” and studying the followership styles of educational leaders. Her belief is that a leader must first, of all, be an effective and supportive follower.

As a consultant, Carol assists clients in strategic planning, assessing the organization, developing action plans and designing goals to track progress. Her skills in assessment are not limited to the organization. She can utilize multiple personal assessment tools to assist individuals in understanding their personal style and develop personal action plans which may include mentoring or personal coaching. With her background as a speech pathologist and school administrator, she has developed a plethora of strategies to assist individuals and organizations in communication and relationship-related issues.

Once a mentee of Dr. Robert Terry, Beckerleg has applied the Action Wheel to her professional endeavors for twenty years. She is developing an accompanying model for use of the Action Wheel in one’s personal life; using personal power to drive the energy for self-fulfillment. Carol’s personal goal is to engage people so they can give themselves and their organizations their very best.

Carol is an avid reader and enjoys writing. She commits time every week to her daughters, their husbands and a very special two-year old granddaughter. She enjoys traveling, especially spur-of-the-moment car trips. A Minnesota native, Carol currently resides in Blaine, MN.
